ACLC BC Branch President’s Trophy 2025
The Army Cadet League of Canada (ACLC) British Columbia (BC) Branch initiated the President’s Trophy for the Outstanding Army Cadet in the Pacific Region, thanks to Col. Gene Lake. Gene served as the president of the ACLC BC Branch from 2000 to 2010 and retired from the Regular Force with the rank of Colonel. After his retirement, he joined the Regional Cadet Support Unit (Pacific) and later became a director of the Army Cadet League BC Branch before assuming the role of Branch President. Each year, the President’s Trophy will recognize one exemplary Army Cadet in the Pacific Region who has shown leadership, initiative, mentorship, and dedication to supporting the Army Cadet Program within their community.
After carefully reviewing the nominations received, the ACLC BC Branch Honours and Award Committee is pleased to announce that Cadet Warrant Officer Zara Shamsheer Ahmed from the 2947 RCACC in Richmond, BC, is the recipient of the 2025 President’s Award for Outstanding Army Cadet in the Pacific Region.
The Army Cadet League of Canada, British Columbia Branch, congratulates WO Ahmed for her unwavering dedication to the Army Cadet Program and her community. WO Ahmed will also be the BC Branch’s nominee for the ACLC Walsh Sword Award, the Outstanding Army Cadet in Canada. In recognition of her exceptional service, the BC Branch is honored to invite WO Ahmed to lay a wreath on behalf of the BC Branch at the Provincial Remembrance Day ceremony in Victoria on November 11th.
The President’s trophy was presented to WO Amhed at the 2947 RCACC’s annual ceremonial review by our BC Branch President, Ms. Christine Alexander, this past weekend.
