The Army Cadet Medal of Merit represents a bold step forward—revitalizing The Army Cadet League of Canada’s awards to reflect the dynamic spirit of today’s Army Cadet Program.

The selection process for this prestigious medal is rigorous and fair, ensuring that only the most deserving candidates are chosen. This process involves a thorough review of each candidate's achievements, dedication, and commitment to the Army Cadet Program. This prestigious medal not only honors outstanding youth for their dedication and achievements but also celebrates the unwavering commitment of the League’s inspiring leaders. It’s more than an award—it’s a symbol of excellence and leadership, while combining our history with our future.

Starting in 2025, the League is setting its sights high — aiming to recognize nearly 130 exceptional Army Cadets every year who embody the spirit, values, and aim of the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Program. These young leaders are our future.

 

The Army Cadet Medal of Merit will recognize outstanding Army Cadets who positively reflect the aim and values of the Royal Canadian Army Cadet program through:

  • Attendance and participation
  • Community service and good citizenship
  • Promotes healthy living, mental and physical well-being
  • Thorough grasp of Army Cadet training and skills, Leadership
  • Dress and deportment
  • Communication

RODGER: Awarded to exceptional Silver Star Army Cadets

HOWARD: Presented to outstanding Gold Star Army Cadets

PRESIDENT: Awarded to outstanding Advanced Learning Program Army Cadets

WALSH: Presented to an Advanced Learning Program Army Cadet whose excellence, character, and service stand above all others across the country.
